On 5th June 2026, the Pru West District Assembly, in collaboration with the Forestry Commission of the Pru West District, participated in the Tree for Life Reforestation Initiative. The programme forms part of efforts to promote environmental sustainability and restore the district’s natural vegetation cover.
The initiative seeks to provide numerous environmental, social, and economic benefits to the district. Planting more trees will help improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, thereby creating a healthier environment for residents. In addition, the project will contribute to the beautification of communities, making the district greener and more attractive.
Furthermore, trees play a vital role in regulating weather and climatic conditions. They help reduce the effects of climate change, prevent soil erosion, and promote biodiversity.
