Farmers across communities in the Pru West District are benefiting from a series of sensitisation programmes being conducted by Agricultural Extension Officers to promote improved agronomic practices and increase agricultural productivity.
The outreach programme forms part of efforts by the Department of Agriculture to equip farmers with modern farming techniques that can help improve crop yields, enhance food security, and increase household incomes. During the sessions, farmers were educated on land preparation, proper planting methods, fertilizer application, weed control, pest and disease management, and climate-smart agricultural practices.
The Extension Officers also emphasized the importance of adopting good agricultural practices to ensure sustainable farming and maximize returns on investment. Farmers were encouraged to seek technical advice regularly and make effective use of improved seeds and other agricultural technologies available to them.
Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the knowledge gained would help them address challenges affecting their farms and improve productivity during the farming season.
The Pru West District Department of Agriculture remains committed to supporting farmers through continuous education, technical assistance, and extension services to promote agricultural development and improve livelihoods across the district.
