The Pru West District Assembly is one of the District Assemblies in the Bono East Region of Ghana. The District was carved out of the former Pru District and was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2288 as part of the Government of Ghana's decentralization program to enhance local governance and accelerate socio-economic development. The District Capital is Prang. Pru West District is strategically located within the Bono East Region and shares boundaries with neighboring districts and regions, making it an important hub for agriculture, trade, and local economic activities. The Assembly is mandated to promote sustainable development, improve the living standards of its residents, and coordinate the provision of essential social and economic services within the district. The District Assembly works in partnership with traditional authorities, development partners, civil society organizations, and the private sector to achieve its vision of fostering unity for development and improving the well-being of all inhabitants.
