
The Institute of Local Government Service organized a two-day orientation program for the Honorable Assembly Members of the third batch of the Pru West District. The orientation focused on enhancing their understanding of deliberative, executive, legislative, and oversight functions critical to their roles as Assembly Members.
Over the course of the two-day workshop, participants engaged in interactive sessions led by experienced facilitators from the Institute. The curriculum was designed to equip Assembly Members with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively execute their responsibilities, improve community engagement, and ensure transparent governance.
After the orientation program, participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to enhance their competencies and emphasized the significance of the training in fostering effective governance in the district.
Hon. Yakubu Aminu Mohammed, a participant and the Presiding Member of the Assembly, stated that, “This training has been invaluable. We are now better prepared to serve our constituents and make informed decisions that impact our community.”
In her concluding remarks, Madam Sethina emphasized that the Institute of Local Government Service remains committed to supporting local governance and enhancing the capacities of assembly members across the country. She urged Hon. Assembly Members to apply the knowledge learnt to help transform their respective communities in particular and the Pru West District in general
