66th Bono East Rgional Independence Anniversary Celebration

The Bono East Regional Independence day was hosted by Nkoranza Municipality, the Bono East Regional Minister, Mr Kwasi Adu-Gyan congratulated all hardworking Ghanaians for the past 66 years.

He called on Ghanaians especially those in the Bono East Region to continue to do their best to uplift the development agenda.

He called for a sober reflection as a people to work on our strengths and weaknesses for now and the future generations.

Mr Adu-Gyan observed that, things that unites the country are more than those that divides. He therefore called for more political, religious, and ethnic tolerance.

He also paid tribute to the 8 pupils who lost their lives in a boat accident in January, 2023 on the Volta River in their quest to search for knowledge. He assured that, plans were advanced to to avoid such calamity.

But for that unfortunate boat incident, the educational sector in the region was performing well. He cited the achievements of Kintampo SHS which has been winning the national independence quiz competition. The recent one is the 66th Independence Anniversary Quiz where KINSHS beat the likes of PRESEC Legon and two other schools to become the national champions for the second time.

Awards were presented to some deserving students, schools, and institutions that have excelled in their various endeavours.

The colourful parade was graced by Omanhen of Yeji traditional area, Pimapim Yaw Kagbrese V (president of Bono East Regional House of Chiefs) and Nana Kwame Baffoe II, President of Nkoranza Traditional Council as well as the various security operatives and heads of departments.
